Breakdown Press is in the house!

Posted on 12 May 00:05 (almost 6 years ago)

We just got in a big box from the UK's Breakdown Press.  It was filled with a a bunch of brand new releases along with some key restocks. Highlights include Katsumata's Fukushima Devil Fish, the long awaited third issue of Conor Stechschulte's Generous Bosom, the equally long awaited third issue of Escape to the Unfinished, this time featuring all new work by Dash Shaw.  Plus, restocks on Shaky Kane's mega-size The Good News Bible, the first two issues of Generous Bosom for anyone who missed out, the third* issue of Joe Kessler's Windowpane, and a much belated batch of Alexander Tucker's World in the Forcefield.  All are now up on the site, and most easily accessed on our Breakdown Press page.

*(the third third issue in the box.  Does that mean anything? Probably not...)

Free Comic Book Day - Saturday 5 May (+ Sunday 6 May; see below) 2018

Posted on 27 April 10:04 (about 6 years ago)

Unsurprisingly, Copacetic will celebrate Free Comic Book Day differently.  First off, it will be Free Comic Book Weekend at Copacetic, continuing on through Sunday 6 May.  However, fair warning:  We only ordered seventeen different FCBD titles – out of the fifty-some offered – and, more to the point, we ordered such modest quantities that the supply on those titles will be exhausted fairly quickly –  only two are sure to last through the weekend: Street Angel's Dog by Jim Rugg and Brian Maruca and the Fantagraphics World's Greatest Cartoonists (featuring a wrapround cover by Sophie Goldstein).  BUT, here at Copacetic, in addition to this year's FCBD titles, we will have a decent selection on hand from FCBDs past.  Who knows what might be in there!  PLUS, we'll be having comic-centric sales and specials throughout the weekend – some of which are noted below the FCBD comics (keep scrolling, this is a long post!).

FIVE DOLLAR FANTAGRAPHICS + !

All the brand new graphic novels, comics collections, scholarly works, etc. from Fantagraphics pictured below  – as well as those from PictureBox and more – will be ON SALE for a mere $5 on Free Comic Book Day Weekend! Take a look.  Needless to say (but, of course, we'll say it anyway):  limited supplies available, come early for best selection.

More FCBD Specials to come!  Stay Tuned for further details... like:

We are pleased to announce that small press comics pioneer, John Porcellino will return to Copacetic on Friday 13 April 2018, from 6pm to 8pm, as part of his tour to promote his latest D & Q release, From Lone Mountain.

Things will start off downstairs at 6pm at the newly remodeled Kaibur Coffee, with a comics reading, and then move upstairs to the Copacetic Realm at 7pm, for an hour (or more!) of comics and conversation , with John P. at the center. Mark it on your calendar!
